Olympia’s Archaeological Museum is one of the most important museums in Greece, as it presents the evolution of the sanctuary, dedicated to Zeus, which constituted the birthplace of the Olympic Games. The History of the Olympic Games in Antiquity Museum is housed in the reconstructed "Old Museum", the first museum of Olympia, and within its premises exhibits, covering chronologically the second millennium BC up to the 5th century AD are displayed. Among the most impressive exhibits are the gold rings - stamps with images of sports, athletes' common objects, and various inscriptions as well.
