Holidays in Parga - Sivota
Both Parga and Sivota, areas of outstanding natural beauty, integrated in the Natura 2000 network, are the most cosmopolitan destinations in northwestern Greece. With their picturesque streets, the idyllic landscapes with green hills, the enchanting islands which reminiscent the Norwegian fjords and the crystal clear waters and spotless beaches, both cities, attract thousands of visitors every year from all over the world.
The Venetian Parga is a beautiful village amphitheatrically built next to the beach which maintains intact its architectural tradition. Houses with colorful facades, clearly influenced by Italy, and the Castle which pops up the hilltop, travel visitors in a magical era with knights and princesses giving the city a nostalgic breath. The idyllic island of Panagia, the narrow paved alleys, the flowery gardens and the traditional taverns give their own tone in Parga’s colorful "palette"! With picturesque streets, shops, restaurants and bars, in Parga, you feel like you are more on an island than on the Greek mainland!
Sivota, a picturesque village with heavy history, built on a small, secluded bay on the coast of the Ionian Sea, on the southern tip of Thesprotia prefecture is the most cosmopolitan resort of the area especially during summer months. It's a revelation! The wonderful terrain reminds something of the Nordic fjords or the Dalmatian coast. The monuments of the past as well as the natural beauty of Sivota will definitely surprise you. Admire the green islands of Saint Nicholas and Mavro Oros (Black Mountain), with the lighthouse, built in 1884, which surround the village. Rent a boat or ask a water taxi to show you around and … let your eyes travel at the blue-green colors of the area.
Both Parga and Sivota offer visitors many recreational options, including diving, sailing and excursions to the nearby islands and villages. Undisputedly, it is an area endowed by nature which can only be memorable to those visiting it.
The beaches of Parga and Sivota, either sandy with little pebbles or with high rocks, will surprise you with their beauty, the terrain diversity and the purity of their coasts. Most of them are organized whilst offer many water sports facilities.
