Nafpaktos, this romantic castle-town with the pervasive nostalgia unfolds at the foot of Pindos mountain, embracing the calm waters of the Corinthian Gulf. In this beautiful "corner" of Greece, mountain meets the sea, creating an image which seems to have sprung from a painting!
In this charming sea-village, the cobbled streets, the nautical houses, the well-preserved mansions, the bougainvilleas and the colorful flowers compose a place filled with beautiful images and fragrances! It is worth browsing in the streets of Nafpaktos, starting your walk from the picturesque and multi-photographed harbor. There, the castle, reaches the sea, closing the entrance to the harbor with two imposing towers. At the western arm of the castle, you will see the impressive iron cannons which seem to mark the sea, George Anemogiannis statue as well as the statue of Miguel de Cervantes. At the eastern tower, you will find the old navy lighthouse and the Fethiye Mosque. Along the harbor, you will find stylishly café/bars. Within walking distance of the harbor, the famous Stenopazaro, the picturesque cobbled street with traditional buildings, lies. There, you will find carefully café/bars, stylishly taverns and shops. Benchmark of this beautiful sea-state is the clock of Nafpaktos, built in 1914. It is worth climbing the well-preserved Venetian castle, which promises a magical journey into the past, offering at the same time, panoramic views across the city, the port, the Corinthian Gulf and the imposing bridge of Rio-Antirio. City's other major attractions are the Pharmakis Museum, Mpotsaris Tower and Papacharalabeios Library.

Travelling by car
To Nafpaktos, you can drive from Athens (220 km distance - 2 hours and 30 minutes ride) via the National Highway from Corinth to Patras. Cross the Rion-Antirrion Bridge and follow the road to Nafpaktos.
Travelling by bus

Travelling by car
To Nafpaktos, you can also drive from Thessaloniki (430 km distance - 5 hours and 30 minutes ride) via the National Highway to Athens. After Lamia turn right to Patras and Amphissa. After, approximately, 27 km , turn left to the village of Gravia, drive around the cities of Amfissa and Itea and then turn right to Nafpaktos.
Travelling by bus
